Coatbridge Calderwood Village Expansion

We’re planning to build on the success of Calderwood Village in Coatbridge, Scotland’s first ‘Yours’ Sustainable Community, with the addition of an extra 210 homes.

Plans have been lodged with North Lanarkshire Council for the 20 acre expansion which will transform the derelict brownfield site, adjacent to the Village.

Once complete it will boast over 350 homes including a wide range of stylish 1 and 2 bedroom apartments and 3 – 5 bedroom houses suitable for first time buyers, professionals and families.

To keep up with the community spirit and clean, green ethos of Calderwood village, particular attention will be given to the design of the streets and attractive outdoor spaces to ensure community living remains at the heart of the neighbourhood.

The new homes will have access to existing facilities including the unique community and business hub which provides a range of group activities and events organised by local residents.

Bruce Dunlop, Managing Director of Dundas Estates said:

“Calderwood Village is an extremely popular development which created its own close-knit community in a very short space of time.

"This expansion will allow us to build a range of new homes, and also ensure that we can add to the outdoor community spaces that local residents can share and enjoy together, which have become integral to community life.”

The planning application is expected to be considered by North Lanarkshire Council within the next few months and, if successful, building would start on site later this year.

The last few remaining homes within the first phase at Calderwood Village are still available. For more information please call 0845 005 5000.
